Story of my Life
I agree to take in 2 cockatiels. TWO! This is what I end up with. Worse, I've got some damn cold and I just want to get rid of this woman and finally realize she does not mean to leave her cheap-ass cages here, she aims to take them back home with her.

This means I'm stuck with having to transfer 6 wild 'tiels into SOMETHING and then get rid of the woman. Hence, the cockaTOO cage they're now in, and the numerous bloody bites on my fingers. The food dishes do not suit. It's not that there's not enough food, it's that there are huge fights because 3 birds can't share one of these sized dishes. Especially this one wiley female who seems to take joy in causing fights.

All of this is not helped by Zazu the B&G macaw who A) wants to play with all their toys from the top so every once in a while there's a house-wide CLANG when one hits the floor of the cage, and B) If the toys don't suit at that moment, she opens their doors and yanks their food dishes out onto the floor. (She's the dogs' hero!)

And I'm still sick as a damn dog (where did that phrase come from, anyway?) and I'm not in the mood to move enormous cages around and find something to put these birds in. They're fine for now.

SECOND:

If you're at all into Firefly Fanfic, here is an EXCELLENT author. I'm generally a Rayne shipper, but Leven writes mostly for Wash/Zoe. So if you're a fan of the series and BDM, you'll be a fan of this fanfic author, no matter what ship you're sailing.

hey there!

I can't believe that lady left all of those cockatiels... how many more birds does she have at home, if she wasn't going to leave the cages?

Seeing your pic above reminded me of my mothers pet cockatiel that lived till 20... The cockatiel's best companion was an army green parrot that we named GI-joe. They were definitely an odd couple, but you couldn't separate the two.

Get to feeling better...

I'll have to check out the firefly fanfic... It's two bad the 2nd season was never able to see the light of day.

Re: hey there!

I've no IDEA how many birds she has and I actually don't care. I CAN'T CARE. To give me ONE Female and 5 males just grosses me out beyond anything. WE DON'T BREED. That's the F'ing problem. I'm going to work with these new dollies, and although I have no idea if anyone will ever want them, they'll be trained and tamed and lovin' attention.
